Christmas in China
Merry Christmas!
My first Christmas apart from family has been completed. Makes it sound like it was a mission, does it not? Well at some times this year I really did feel like it was a mission. Objection: Rely on my Father, make it through without missing my loved ones so much till I hurt, and enjoy each moment that came along with the season. I surely missed everyone heartfuls, and had to rely on my Dad in an out of all my weak moments. As I sit here though, looking past on these past few weeks I think that I have received a new perspective on Christmas and my lord, and it has been worth all the aches of my missing heart.
Here in China, Christmas is not a national Holiday... You can close your mouth now. I know crazy though. Just within the past few years, younger generations of China have begun to bring it out with the consumerism boom, bringing on heavily the false meaning of Christmas. It is funny seeing a culture celebrate a holiday that is new to them, it would be like telling toddlers to get christmas dinner ready for the family to come over.
I want to thank everyone who has supported me through this season. All the little email's, packages, prayers... Each has meant so much. I am treasuring you all! Learning to never take the small things for granted. Merry Christmas, and always remember the reason!

I love my Chinese friends!

These are my Chinese friends Sara and Stephanie!Katherine and I met them at the Library of Qingdao University, they also go to school there. Sara is studying to be a doctor and hoping to go to America. And stephanie is studying fine art. I love them, they honestly have been so much fun. I think the real way that I have been learning about the culture of chinese youth, is through them. Sara and Stephanie are from TaiShan, which is one of the five most famous mountains in China. We are hoping to go visit them during Spring Festival. This is all four of us trying to get into a picture.

Jiaozi Galore
I have found an abounding love for chinese dumplings.
18 meatful, mouthful suprises.
Delight after each two bites.
Find me at Da Dan Dumplings
